And some fotos from “Yakushima” Island – it’s ancient forests with 3000+ year old trees have inspired the movie “Princess Mononoke” – and the tropical islands “Kikaejima” and “Amami”. This is the most beautiful part of Japan I have seen so far…

Climbing Mt. Fuji

Last weekend I joined the masses and climbed Mt. Fuji (3776m). Even though I’ve never seen so many people on a mountain before, it was more exhausting than I thought, and I suffered quite a bit of altitude sickness (headache, nausea). Unfortunately I did not get a good view, because of clouds, but still it was a great experience! Here are the photos:

Here are some pictures from the Cherry Blossom (“Sakura”) season in Osaka/Japan. The cherry blossom viewing celebration (“Hanami”) is mostly a reason for masses of Japanese to get drunk under the white blooming trees, while appreciating the short-lasting beauty of the fragile flowers.
