i don't like guides!

in most places they will try to rip you off and extract as much money as possible from you and tell you all kinds of bullshit to do so. they just work with your fear!

but furthermore i think going with guides also limits the experience and interactions with the normal people living in the area. i regretted it every time! they kind of shield you from your surroundings and create an artificial tourist bubble for you, serving you all kinds of bullshit you don't need but they think you need.
