01.04.2008: nylon still alive?: it was too sad to see all information about the MeshCube beeing lost with the death of 4g systems and meshcube.org and the NyLon distribution not beeing able to compile anymore - so i spent some time to update nylon for current distributions and saved a few pieces of information which i could recover from backups here: MeshCube.

01.02.2008: big japan foto update: uploaded a lot of pictures of ToKyo, where i spent new year (2007->2008) with judith, the japanese island KyuShu which we travelled to and some of KyOto and various places (JapanMisc).

01.02.2008: i'm getting wiki-spammed: as you can see in RecentChanges i have been getting a lot of wiki spam - so i had to disable editing for anyone except me. well... it wasn't like anyone used this feature anyways. and upon flos request i have enabled RSS feeds for my wiki (RecentChanges), so you can keep better track of me. the built in RSS feature of moin wikis is not perfect, but it's better than nothing.

29.01.2008: facebook: more and more people seem to use facebook. i have always found this site suspicious due to privacy concerns, but here is some background information about the company and their users privacy: in animation and text. i don't think it's too important weather all the claims made here are actually true or not - it's a fact that facebook is collecting masses of private information, and there is a high possibility that they use it in a way i don't like.

26.01.2008: too much stuff: please take 20min to check out this very good documentation: http://www.storyofstuff.com/ - yep, we know most of it already, and it's a bit america centric, but sometimes it's necessary to become aware of that again. it's time to make our lifes more simple! (einfach.org). and chris, you're right: don't call us "consumers", that's an insult!

25.01.2008: server downtime: we had some problems with the server (never upgrade a running system, ron ;)), so it was down the last couple of days. sorry... now everything should be back as before.

07.12.2007: moved to br1.einfach.org: i just moved the wiki to my new server http://br1.einfach.org/ and to the new "moinmoin" version. seems like i'm pretty much back in the TechnoLogy world, and i realize that i *do* enjoy it. so here's the tech news: i'm working atheros drivers (ath5k and madwifi) again and in my spare time i develop horst, a scanning tool for wireless networks. on the weekends i party in osaka, but otherwise there's not much else to do here in kobe...

26.10.2007: no news: i know... some of you eagerly wait for some news from the mysterious country of japan... but there really is not much to tell. i work and there is not much else to do here, except endless shopping malls... take your most hated shopping mall take that to the square and you're somewhere close... anyhow, here are some fotos: JapanKobe.

28.09.2007: arrived in kobe: i just arrived in kobe, japan, where i will live on the artificial 'rokko island' and work for a mesh company called thinktube for the next 6 month. the weather is still nice and hot compared to berlin, around 30 degrees and high humidity, but the parts of the city i have seen so far are not very interresting, just shopping malls and industrial areas.

09.09.2007: one week in italy: after all that stress in the last years i needed a vacation. one week in south italy (ItalyCilento) with nice beaches, beautiful old villages and great great pizza were just the right thing to appreciate the cultural diversity in europe again.

17.08.2007: in austria: finally i made the move to austria, to visit my relatives and friends there. currently i am with my brother in linz. i am restructuring the wiki a bit, since my Travels are more or less finished for now and i will be more orienting towards TechnoLogy and MeshNetworks in the near future again. see the "tabs" on the top of the page. austria is weird: most people are grouchy.
