Kinnaur Valley

going up north from 'dehradun', the valleys are getting deeper and the roads steeper.

the temple at 'sarahan' is built with a special ancient earthquake-proof method of interlacing wood and stone bricks...

...and has beautiful wood carvings. and a dorm where i could stay for 0,50 cent.

same earhquake-proofing style and a kinnauri man who invited me for a chai.

"not using horns at sharp curves is an offense".

the roads and views are getting more exciting.

the village of 'kalpa'...

...where some traditional dancing at the temple just happened.

most of the kinnaur valley is a big construction site for hydro-electricity projects.

going more north, the landscape starts to get more barren and desert-like.

some parts of the road get rougher (most of them were good, though).

and driving gets more exciting.
